COME AS YOU ARE
(God Loves The Sinner And Justifies The Ungodly)
TO THE BIBLE: 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
LET’S TALK
“Melissa, what are you doing this Sunday? Come to church with me,” Sarah invited.
“Um, I don’t think so. I’ve got a score to settle with God,” Melissa replied.
“What score? Come on, just come as you are because He loves you the way you are.”
Do you know God the Father isn’t waiting for any unbeliever to settle scores with Him or change their old ways before coming to Him? Contrary to what many think, it doesn’t take much to be born again. All He requires of that individual is to come into Christ. Romans 10:9 says, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” That’s all that’s necessary. Once the unbeliever comes into Christ, he becomes a new creation, just as our opening scripture says.
If you’re not born again today, God’s not judging you or holding anything against you. On the contrary, He wants you saved. It doesn’t matter how you’ve lived your life because God justifies the ungodly. 2 Corinthians 5:19 TLB says, “...God was in Christ, restoring the world to himself, no longer counting men’s sins against them but blotting them out. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.” How gracious the Lord is!
He loved us even when we were dead in sin: “...God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Romans 4:5 ESV also shows us that, “...to the one who does not work but believes
in him (God) who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.”
This is the Gospel: it’s about Christ Jesus and His great love for all humanity! It’s about the eternal life and righteousness that He’s freely made available to all, which becomes a vital reality in the life of the one who accepts this truth by confessing the
Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Dear heavenly Father, I pray for the unsaved around the world, declaring open channels for the Gospel to reach and impact them today. Every resistance is broken, and they receive the truth with understanding and embrace your Word for their salvation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
